“There are lessons to be found in the hurt and the hard.”

Kate is putting the finishing touches on her first memoir, Reclaimed Good, a story of love, loss, and second chances. WHEN you sign up for her newsletter, not only will you learn more about what she's reading and the stories she's been writing, you'll make her jump up and down with arthritic abandon for at least a minute and a half.

…I’d rather be eating chocolate…
Before her infamous writing career, Kate held a variety of meaningful jobs, amassing a slew of unimpressive titles with minimal paystubs. Each role contributed to her passion for the human condition, her addiction to storytelling, and her love of language.
A self-described book nerd, Kate is the happiest reading on the beach, playing with words in her office, enjoying a mid-range glass of wine, or laughing with friends and family. Always up for an adventure, she travels when and where her bank account and dog sitter allow. Since life is about choices, which she still isn't very adept at, she'd rather eat chocolate than lunch, take photos than find herself in them, and feel slightly chilled rather than burning up.
Kate lives on the North Carolina coast with her partner, Bobby, and her mixed-breed rescue dog, Max. She has three adult children and seven grandchildren. Her friends agree she can be wildly inappropriate, wickedly self-deprecating, and extremely sentimental.
